Sebastian Weiß, Ph.D.

Currently, I am doing my post doc with the Otto-von-Guericke University in Magdeburg. My tasks include XR development, project management, and grant writing. I earned my Ph.D. (Dr.-Ing.) degree in XR and HCI from the Carl von Ossietzky University in Oldenburg in 2024 and my master's degree in Medical Systems Engineering at the Otto-von-Guericke University of Magdeburg in 2016. I also hold a Bachelor of Engineering from Jade Hochschule Wilhelmshaven. In my spare time, I dance in a latin style formation group!

Research

I create VR experiments to research the reactions of users to virtual representations to typical scenarios from intensive care units, using physiological measures and questionnaires.

Project Management

I have managed both my own work packages and students projects and theses. I have also received training in classic and SCRUM-based project management.

Mobile Development

I have some experience developing applications both native in iOS/Android as well as with Unity.

Unity Development

I have 6+ years experience with Unity3D, both immersive and screen based software using C# as the main programming language.
