Sebastian Weiß

I am a PhD student at the OFFIS Institute for Information Technology in Oldenburg, Germany. In my research, I create stressful Virtual Reality scenarios for nurse apprentices, with a focus on the nursing environment Intensive Care Units (ICU). I received my master's degree in medical systems engineering at the Otto-von-Guericke University of Magdeburg, and I hold a Bachelor of Engineering from Jade Hochschule Wilhelmshaven.

What I Do

Research

I create VR experiments to research the reactions of users to virtual representations to typical scenarios from intensive care units, using physiological measures and questionnaires.

Project Management

I have managed both my own work packages and students projects and theses. I have also received training in classic and SCRUM-based project management.

Mobile Development

I have some experience developing applications both native in iOS/Android as well as with Unity.

Unity Development

I have 6+ years experience with Unity3D, both immersive and screen based software using C# as the main programming language.
